On The Road With GUNS N’ ROSES Bassist TOMMY STINSON; More Video Footage … – Blabbermouth.net

GUNS N’ ROSES bassist Tommy Stinson has posted the fourth in a series of video clips featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the band’s “Chinese Democracy” world tour. The clip, which can be viewed below, contains footage of “delicious times in Chile, where Tommy meets some new musical friends.”

As previously reported, GUNS N’ ROSES frontman Axl Rose is being sued by his former manager for nearly $2 million dollars in unpaid commissions, according to the Associated Press. Front Line Management, led by music industry powerhouse Irving Azoff, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles last Thursday (March 25), claiming that Rose owes the company $1.9 million, or 15 percent of the more than $12 million that Rose has earned from performances in Europe, Canada and South America, based on an oral agreement.

Azoff, considered one of the most powerful men in music, has managed the careers of artists such as the EAGLES and VAN HALEN, and at one point handled the affairs of Rose’s former GUNS bandmates in VELVET REVOLVER.

He is widely credited with pushing Rose to finally complete and release the 2008 GUNS album “Chinese Democracy” after a 15-year delay.

Rose parted ways with Azoff at some point in the last year and claims he is now handled by Doc McGhee, a veteran rock manager whose clients over the years have included KISS, BON JOVI and MÖTLEY CRÜE. However, KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently told Classic Rock magazine that McGhee is in fact not managing Rose nor GUNS N’ ROSES.

The eccentric singer has not yet commented publicly on the lawsuit.

SLASH: First Photo Of Touring Band Released – Mar. 31, 2010 – Blabbermouth.net

The first photo of Slash’s new touring band — featuring the VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist alongside vocalist Myles Kennedy (ALTER BRIDGE), bassist Todd Kerns (SIN CITY SINNERS, STATIC IN STEREO, AGE OF ELECTIC), rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck (WEEZER, GREEN DAY) and drummer Brent Fitz (ALICE COOPER, VINCE NEIL) — can be viewed below.

Slash told The Pulse of Radio that he’s really pleased to have Kennedy singing on the tour. “He was one of these sort of youngish rock singers that I wasn’t real familiar with, who is probably one of the best, you know, young new rock ‘n’ roll singers around,” he said. “There’s actually two songs on the record that he did, and he can basically perform any other songs on the record, plus he knows how to do all the GUNS N’ ROSES stuff. So it’s worked out nicely.”

In other news, Slash has been added to this year’s installment of the Hellfest festival, set to take place June 18-20, 2010 in Clisson, France.

Commented the Hellfest organizers: “Many of you (like us, to be honest!) thought that the bill was definitely closed and that there wouldn’t be any more additions, but what could we do? Could we refuse to see such a legend on the festival’s stage? We decided to give you this little gift which will, for sure, satisfy all the fans of hard rock.”

Slash’s solo album is due out on April 6. To kick off the release, Slash will be the featured performer at Revolver Golden Gods Awards, with several of his album collaborators making special guest appearances. Slash will also make a series of late-night performances with talk show hosts Jay Leno, George Lopez and Craig Ferguson.

Slash TV dates to watch (check local listings):

* Tuesday, April 6 – “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (NBC)
* Thursday, April 8 – “Lopez Tonight” with George Lopez (TBS)
* Thursday, April 8 – Revolver Golden Gods Awards ceremony from Hollywood (airs May 22 on VH1)
* Friday, April 8 – “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (CBS)

The first single from the set, called “By The Sword”, features vocals from WOLFMOTHER frontman Andrew Stockdale.

The guitarist uses a different guest vocalist on each track, including Fergie, M. Shadows, Kid Rock, Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, Lemmy Kilmister, Iggy Pop and others.

Guns n’ Roses, Arcade Fire, reunited Libertines to play Reading and Leeds – Independent

Guns n’ Roses, Arcade Fire, and Blink-182 will headline the 2010 Reading and Leeds festivals, scheduled for August 27-29, according to a March 29 announcement. Also in the lineup are The Libertines, set to perform together for the first time in six years, as well as Weezer, Paramore, Modest Mouse, Queens of the Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, and Phoenix.

Guns n’ Roses will headline the Reading Festival on August 27 and the Leeds Festival on August 29, while Arcade Fire will will headline the opening day at Leeds and the second night at Reading. Blink-182 will play second night of Leeds and the final night of Reading. Other bands, including Weezer, Paramore, Cypress Hill, Limp Bizkit, and All Time Low, will make one appearance each at the two festivals.

The Libertines released two albums, 2002’s Up the Bracket and 2004’s The Libertines, before breaking up in 2004 due to disagreements between guitarist Pete Doherty and co-frontman Carl Barat. Last May, three of four group members performed together during a concert by Doherty’s band Babyshambles, suggesting that a reunion might be near.

Tickets are now on sale for both festivals, which take place simultaneously in the two UK cities and feature the same lineup. The capacity is about 80,000 at the Reading site and about 70,000 at Leeds.

More lineup announcements are expected soon. For more information, including a list of online ticket outlets, visit http://www.readingfestival.com or http://www.leedsfestivals.com.

Guns N Roses For Reading And Leeds – ClashMusic.com

Rock icons Guns N Roses are set to headline this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals.

Two events with deep roots in rock mythology, Reading and Leeds united over a decade ago to produce a double-decker of festival excitement. Spread across two sites, the event has gathered a reputation for capturing stunning exclusives.

This year is no exception. The widely reported news that The Libertines are to reform and play the event is just one in a series of huge headliners, with bona fide rock icons Guns N Roses due to visit the UK.

Releasing their new album ‘Chinese Democracy’ last year, Guns N Roses ended a near fifteen year silence. Still as controversial as ever, singer Axl Rose recently stopped a show in Peru after being pelted with objects from the crowd.

Of course, he was also two hours late…

Guns N Roses are set to headline Reading and Leeds, their first major British festival date in some time. Perhaps the definitive Reading act, their back catalogue contains some of the most provocative material in rock music.

Joining the Los Angeles band are Canadian group Arcade Fire, emerging from a two year break. By way of contrast, Californian punk-pop trio Blink 182 are also set to perform on the typically eclectic bill.

In addition to those headliners, the likes of The Cribs, Biffy Clyro, Weezer and Queens Of The Stone Age are set to perform.

Reading and Leeds festivals takes place between August 27th – 28th.
